NASA astronaut hospitalized after returning from ISS

A NASA astronaut who just returned from the International Space Station was hospitalized with an unknown illness but is in stable condition, the U.S. space agency said Friday.
The four-member Crew-8 mission splashed down off the coast of Florida early Friday after spending nearly eight months in an orbital laboratory.
SpaceX Dragon performed a routine re-entry and splashdown on its way back to Earth, and the crew and spacecraft were recovered without incident, NASA said in a blog post.
However, it added that during a routine medical evaluation on the recovery vessel, “out of an abundance of caution, additional evaluation of the crew was requested”, without elaborating.
NASA astronauts Matthew Dominic, Michael Barratt, and Janet Epps, and Roscosmos astronaut Alexander Grebenke all flew to Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola.
The three have since been released, but one of the NASA astronauts remains in the hospital “under observation as a precautionary measure.”
NASA said it would not release specific medical information to protect the privacy of the crew, but would provide updated information as it becomes available.
